Three years ago we moved to a new data processing company call Portico. Not to bring up bad memories but the conversion also meant we had to change the way we were doing business. We changed our Automated Clearing House processing which is how we receive most of our direct deposit and payroll allotments. We changed our Debit Card processing which increased the amount you could get through that system while we were offline via signature and pin base. We also changed who and how our statements were processed right down to whom our sharedrafts were being printed by.
We continue today to make changes to those systems to better meet our members’ needs and to limit unnecessary exposure for the credit union. We have changed the offline limits for transactions down to a limit of 3. We are finalizing changes to our statement processing to bring that production back to Iowa so we can have our statements printed sooner and have them mailed from within the same mailing zone to decrease delivery time. These changes very seldom happen without a hitch – please let us know if the changes affect you adversely or if something doesn’t work as expected.
We have seen some staff changes over the past few months in both of our offices. While this is never fun for either of us it does allow for us to review our operation, take a look at what works, what we used to do that has changed over the years and address areas of member services which we believed needed to be stepped up a notch. We have hired some great folks the last few months; look for future introduction of these great people on our web site and other publications that we make available to you. Please welcome them into our family; we are excited to have them.
Some of you may have noticed I have been at our Eastown Branch a little more often these last few months.I have to say I have really enjoyed seeing so many friends and members while I was there. We cleaned a few things up, cleared a few things out and opened an office for the management team to be able to use when we are on site at the Eastown office. I encourage you to stop by and see us when we are onsite at the Eastown office and let us know how you think things are going.
We are beginning to organize our first try at some retirement planning lunch and learns. As we have
mentioned the past several months we have joined partners with Dale Roshek with Principal. We are taking the next step by putting together lunch and learns. We will be putting out an invitation shortly which will be listed on our website and other places within the credit union. The size of the attendance is limited but we will continue to build programs based on demands and interest. Dale does a great job with folks in all phases of retirement planning, from the folks that just started work and need to start a plan all the way through the already retired and want to make sure they are on the right track.
We work hard every day to assist you in meeting your financial goals. We would appreciate hearing any ideas or comments that can help us serve you better.
