Reflecting On 100 Years of First Class: Al Downey

Al Downey

Al Downey has been a member of our credit union since 1963, joining the Postal Workers Credit Union simply because it was in the post office building where he worked. Over the years, he’s experienced firsthand how convenient and helpful the credit union can be. “Borrowing money was convenient. Transfer of home mortgage was a breeze,” he recalls.

Al appreciates the unique benefits of a member-owned institution. “Knowing the credit union is available whenever I might need financial assistance is reassuring,” he says. He describes the credit union to prospective members simply: “Member-owned benefits.”

Celebrating 100 years is a special milestone for Al. “Terrific milestone!” he exclaims, proud to be part of a financial institution that has consistently supported him and generations of members.
